Happy 4th of July to our American friends. A day to celebrate independence!
But the 4th of July 2020 has a slightly different twist for those of us in the England.
Today, we can get a haircut, and then have a pint or gin and tonic. Later, we may go for a meal in our favourite restaurant.
We are celebrating regaining some of our independence! I for one am glad that we are taking steps to exit lockdown, but I hope that we respect this opportunity, and don’t jeopardise the great work of the last few months.
Some of us will also be taking a short break away from home. I am going to stay in a fabulous apartment in Brighton for the next week. My husband and I will be the first guests following the introduction of lockdown. I am very excited, but I am under no illusion that ‘normal’ is back.
