The shops are open!!
Some of us are truly excited by this, whilst others are not. So how does it make you feel?
A friend text me today to say that she was already in a very long queue for her favourite store. This was at 0630! If she is happy, then I’m happy for her, but it’s really not for me.
We have spent many months in lockdown. The 2 metre rule has been observed, and we’ve not given our family and friends a much needed hug. Why then. would you choose to be so close to total strangers!
I know the shops will take all precautions, but I really cannot see how this will truly work!
I believe that some of us are craving what we see as our normality. We like nice new things and spending money can be joyous. I was like this, but being in lockdown has highlighted the difference between needing and wanting.
Whilst sorting through wardrobes, I’ve found items of clothing that have never been worn. There is no need for me to replace them with new things. I do not need to spend money!
My view of things have most definitely changed. I’m glad that we are being given more choice now, but I won’t be rushing to join a queue any time soon!
